Speaker: Sean Kelley Esq., of    Kelley & Corneal, P.L., St Augustine,, Fl

Location: Hilton Garden Inn, Town Center Boulevard, just off Rt. 100 in Palm Coast (exit 284 of I-95)

Topic:    The program will cover some updates related to Florida Trust Law, a brief discussion of the estate tax consequences of the recently passed federal "Tax Relief" compromise, and certain Insurance death benefits and employer-owned life insurance contracts.

Sean Kelley Bio:
Sean Kelley concentrates his practice in estate planning, probate, trust and guardianship administration and fiduciary litigation. Mr. Kelley graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in accounting in 1994. He earned his J.D. from Stetson University in 1997 and went on to earn an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida Graduate Tax Program in 1998.
Mr. Kelley is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar and serves on several committees of that section, including the Probate Law Committee, Fiduciary Litigation Committee, and the Estate Planning and Tax Committee. He is currently the Chair of the Guardianship Procedure and Law Committee and also serves as a Circuit Representative for the Seventh Judicial Circuit. Mr. Kelley recently completed his service on the Durable Power of Attorney Committee, which has resulted in a substantial revision and expansion of the existing power of attorney statute. Mr. Kelley has been a member of the Executive Counsel of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section since 2006.
Mr. Kelley is also a frequent lecturer on estate and trust issues, and was recently recognized as a rising star by Super Lawyers. His publication credits include Chapter 1 “Procedural Considerations” of the Florida Bar publication Litigation Under the Probate Code.
He is active in the community, regularly volunteering his time for programs such as Florida Lawyers Saving Homes and local legal aid organizations. He currently serves as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for EPIC Community Services (a non-profit organization focusing on the prevention and treatment of substance abuse disorders), as well as a member of the St. Augustine Advisory Counsel for the Jacksonville Community Foundation. Mr. Kelley is also the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Deaver Phoenix Foundation, a private foundation which focuses its charitable programs on primary education.
